Her specialties
include Swedish, Pregnancy (pre- and post-natal), and
Sports massage. She has also taken a one-year
course in Hakomi for Bodywork, which emphasizes mindfulness
in bodywork. Janet is a Reiki Master and has recently taken a course in Oncology massage.
Janet's interests include martial arts, yoga, weightlifting,
and dance, which give her a unique perspective on the
dynamics of the human body. She received a Teacher's
Training Certification in yoga from the Temple
of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. Her 10+ years of martial
arts training has been in Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian martial
art) and Tai Chi. She also speaks Brazilian Portuguese.
Janet integrates various techniques to create a customized
and relaxing massage experience. Your needs will
be carefully reviewed, and an individual specific treatment
plan will be created for you if you wish. The
duration, frequency, and number of sessions will depend
on your goals and specific conditions.
